When Terps give to the people, programs and possibilities they care about, individual acts of generosity add up to extraordinary impact.
Nearly 10,000 Terps came together on Giving Day 2026 to support more than 650 causes across Maryland. Every gift was different. Together, they raised a record $9.4 million—proof that when Terps give at every level, individual acts of generosity can add up to extraordinary impact.

In its first year, the Maryland Women’s Society chose three campus initiatives to support. By pooling their resources and deciding together where to invest them, members are advancing student leadership, women’s health innovation and food security across Maryland.

Through Launch UMD, Terps have contributed more than $2.5 million to 377 crowdfunding projects supporting student experiences, research, innovation and more. With nearly 24,000 donors taking part since 2014, Launch UMD shows how individual gifts can come together to move big ideas forward.

When 237 donors rallied around the Mighty Sound of Maryland, their support helped replace a 30-year-old drum set and purchase new mellophones, trombones and saxophones. Together, their gifts put new instruments directly into the hands of Maryland students.
