Stronger Communities
Do Good Campus
Why Do Good Campus
As the nation’s first Do Good campus, we’re building a culture that places service, innovation and social impact at the heart of our academic and research enterprise. Across every school and college, the Do Good Campus initiative empowers students, faculty and staff to turn expertise into action and purpose into measurable societal impact through a growing lineup of courses, programs and one-of-a-kind experiences that propel chance takers and difference makers to change the world now.
Becoming a Do Good Campus has given every college and school the opportunity to contribute alongside the Do Good Institute to redefine what it means to educate for impact and innovation, and positions the University of Maryland as a national model for how higher education can serve the public good.
This transformative effort is powered by philanthropy—sparked by a landmark gift from an anonymous donor couple—and strengthened by the university’s investment and a commitment to raise additional funds from supporters and friends.
With your help, we can continue to expand our Do Good Campus—here at UMD and far beyond.
