Mold Tomorrow’s Leaders Today

Coaches are the backbone of a successful team. They are master teachers, community builders, connectors and confidants. These leaders build teams whose success is measured not only in wins and national titles but in the strength of character and determination they foster in young women and men, and their impact doesn’t end at graduation. They prepare our student-athletes for leadership roles in their careers and communities by instilling values of teamwork, resilience, discipline and service.

When you provide current-use funds and endowment support for coaching positions, Maryland Athletics can build on the legacy that a long line of larger-than-life Terp coaches created. UMD coaches are a foundational source of Terrapin Pride, from past coaches like Bobby Ross, Chris Weller and Gary Williams to current ones like Brenda Frese, Sasho Cirovski, Missy Meharg, Cathy Reese and John Tillman, and their engagement in the university and surrounding community advances the public good and elevates the profile of Maryland Athletics and UMD.

Your investment helps keep Maryland as a destination for coaches. It ensures Maryland attracts and retains exceptional leaders with the vision and tools to build outstanding programs, keep Maryland consistently competitive, elevate our Big Ten standing and draw top student-athletes from across the country.
